The Anchorage at Deep Cove

This development is a unique community of sea-side homes located in majestic Deep Cove, located just minutes from the historic South Shore village of Chester, and 45 miles to Halifax.

Seaside Capes in Magnificent Deep Cove

The development of the future in magnificent Deep Cove: We listened to our clients, and this is what we heard: "We dream of owning a south shore seaside-home near Chester; an easy commute to Halifax. No shared living; not a duplex, privacy is important to us. We prefer a traditional free-standing home...at least 2 bedrooms, ensuite & walk in closet, 2 baths, of course, cathedral ceilings, open concept kitchen & great room, a fireplace for fireside dining & entertaining... radiant-in floor heating, private outside decks, stunning ocean views and, of course, access for the boat.

We like to be free to travel, so we want a place that is easy to rent or leave without any worries. We don't want more work; we want less, and we want up-keep to be someone else's problem." In answer to that, we designed a traditional free-standing cape style house, combined that with purchase structure of a condo corporation, and located them beside the ocean in magnificent Deep Cove, near Chester and Halifax. The Anchorage at Deep CoveÉÉaffordable, traditional and carefree seaside living.

Our Market Research
We attribute our success to close attention. What was the vision of our buyers? We knew, for instance, that our clients wanted traditional, well-designed homes with ocean access, proximity to theatre, restaurants, the golf course, a yacht club, antiquing, fishing, lots of things to do on a day trip. They expected a traditional design, reminiscent of a New England town. Although we often refer to our homes as cottages, the quality is second to none, they are really a home-away-from-home, elegant, smart and built for year round living; stained concrete floors (warmth in the winter and a coolness in the summer), granite counter tops, recessed lighting, traditional trim, high-flame propane fireplace, oodles of Argon windows and doors maximizing ocean views.

If location is everything: Located less than an hour's driving time to Halifax International Airport...flights daily to London, New York, and destinations around the world.

Carefree and affordable:
The concept of building stand-alone houses and putting them under a condominium structure was to assure that the use of costly oceanfront could be affordable and carefree. In maximizing the use of land through the use of a condo structure, we have passed those savings along to you. A state-of-the-art sewage treatment system meets the needs of all 30 homes and provides low cost maintenance for years to come

Affordable condominium fee of $190.00 per month.
We had our ear to the ground, and what were hearing about condo fees was not always positive, yes, there was the maintenance and carefree lifestyle that came with, but how to minimize the hikes that other developments have seen?

Working with nature, not against it:
Keeping it simple. The Anchorage is surrounded by natural beauty, Deep Cove Mountain, pristine forest and the calm and placid waters of Deep Cove are the canvas for a natural landscape: rock wall borders, indigenous plants and shrubs such as flowering rhododendron, rugosa rose, lilac, apple and plum trees grace the landscape.

Minimizing the variables: Cost over-runs that have come through a shared clubhouse or other outbuildings have been avoided. There are no common buildings to be found at the Anchorage, but there are plenty of private outdoor spaces for a barbeque or Oceanside dining and entertaining. The Anchorage provides for free standing homes; one is very much the captain of one's ship in determining the use of utilities.
